About Me

I have enjoyed doing artwork ever since I could hold a pencil. My natural interest and aspiration from an early age was to create realistic works, primarily of animals and nature. I have also always been drawn to natural elements, such as wood, stone, and water, and softer organic tones. It now seems only fitting that my current work incorporates and combines the use of wood, woodburning, and painting in muted organic tones, primarily of animals and nature.

While my education includes an MBA and BBA, I obtained a second undergraduate minor in art simply for enjoyment. I focused on studio art and illustration. After many years in the corporate world and away from art, I began doing art again in 2019 after working on a headboard project that led me to dusting off my old woodburning tool and rediscovering the joy of pyrography. I added a twist with incorporating color using a paint-wash technique to allow for hints of the wood grain to show through. It became my first woodburned painting and resulted in my most enjoyable and preferred current art medium. You will find my paintings to be realistic, but with my own artistic vision and creativity.

Thank you for your interest.
